2017 Kids' Chance Golf Tournament

The Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) presented checks to three of the 20 Kids' Chance Scholarship recipients for the for the 2017-18 school year. The checks were distributed at the 14th annual Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corp. (LWCC) Kids' Chance golf tournament at the Country Club of Louisiana. All proceeds from the tournament are donated to the scholarship program.   

Care Packets for Kids

During the week committee members gathered to put together care packets for the current scholarship recipients. Generous donations from law firms helped fill the boxes with supplies, snacks, gift cards and other goodies to get them through finals week.

LBF Kids' Chance at RIMKUS

On May 5 the Louisiana Bar Foundation Kids’ Chance participated in a RIMKUS Continuing Education seminar for insurance adjusters. Our LBF KC committee volunteers are: L-R, Dan Boudreaux, Laura Borchert and Nancy Konrad.

Kids' Chance Awareness Week is Nov. 13-17

National Kids’ Chance Awareness Week is designed to highlight Kids’ Chance initiatives, programs, and state organizations and raise awareness about Kids’ Chance and our mission. 

Kids' Chance Recipient Speaks at Capitol

LBF KC participated in the 2017 Workers’ Memorial Day April 28 on the steps of the state capital. Kids’ Chance recipient Quentin LeBlanc spoke at the event. Quentin is a student at LSU in Baton Rouge.

LBF Awards $59,000 in 2017-18 Kids' Chance Scholarships

The Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) Kids’ Chance Scholarship program is awarding $59,000 in scholarships to 20 students. Scholarships are awarded to dependent children of Louisiana workers killed or permanently and totally disabled in an accident compensable under a state or federal Workers’ Compensation Act or law. 

Kids’ Chance Awareness Week

On November 16 during a fundraiser luncheon, Governor John Bel Edwards proclaimed November 14-18, 2016 LBF Kids’ Chance Awareness Week.

Kids’ Chance volunteers helped Kids’ Chance of America spread the word about Kids’ Chance at the 25th Annual National Workers’ Compensation & Disability Conference and Expo in New Orleans.

National Kids' Chance Awareness Week

This year it is estimated that more than 100 Louisiana workers will die on the job. More than 45,000 will be injured, leaving half of those injured disabled.
