The 2026 Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) President’s Award was given to George D. “Dave” Ernest III in recognition of his outstanding support, volunteer service, dedication and advancement of the mission and goals of the Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) from 2025-26 LBF President Edmund J. Giering IV during the 40th Annual Fellows Membership Meeting on Friday, April 17.
Ernest is a shareholder at Hurlburt, Monrose, and Ernest in Lafayette. His diverse practice focuses on defense casualty litigation. He has been a Fellow since 2016 and has been a champion for the Bar Foundation ever since. He has served on numerous committees, the LBF board, and chaired the Grantee Audit & Training Committee. His commitment to the Grantee Audit & Training Committee has helped ensure strong oversight, accountability, and excellence in grantee operations.
