The Legal System
is supposed to work for everyone...

In civil proceedings, access to an attorney is not guaranteed. In Louisiana, we currently have an abundance of citizens that qualify for civil legal aid, and a shortage of civil legal aid attorneys to assist them in court. There are also significant gaps in legal education and awareness. Poverty and other systemic barriers can result in a tiered system where justice is not as blind as we’d like.

The Louisiana Bar Foundation wants to Change that.

Working with 70+ partner organizations, we focus on preserving access to civil legal aid and education for communities that need it most.

LBF Fellows are critical for increasing access to civil legal aid, legal education, and legal awareness throughout the state.

Our Fellows serve as ambassadors to the community and support the continued delivery of our grants and programs. That’s only part of what membership offers.

As an LBF Fellow, you can:

  •  Join a professional network of 1000+ Louisiana-based paralegals, lawyers, magistrates, and judges.
  • Attend exclusive industry events, including mid-year and annual Fellows luncheons ($100 value!)
  • Participate in annual nominations for Louisiana’s distinguished jurist, attorney, and professor awards.
  • Gain new professional skills via free continuing legal education (CLE) credits worth up to $400.
  • Become eligible to participate in LBF committees and hold important leadership positions within the group.

Most importantly, LBF Fellows are a driving force behind the millions in grants dispersed throughout the community.
